Nostradamus C.9 Q.45: On the terrestrial human soul and the forces that seek to control it.

Nostradamus C.9 Q.45:  On the terrestrial human soul and the forces that seek to control it.

There is a major theme in Nostradamus' Prophecies that I have yet to present as a coherent group and it deals with the evolution of the terrestrial human soul. Evolution has set man apart as it has done for many species but the span of dominance always ends as the eternal expansion and testing of possibilities plods relentlessly on. There will be a new creature somewhere, sometime that moves the things that make mankind unique to another phase. We can know what these things are and with knowledge of the evolutionary patterns fore-guess what must emerge. A new species will dominate but man will not necessarily disappear and there will be a relationship between us and the species yet to come. We will survive just as the fox and the farmer co-exist. The worst and most arrogant of man's excesses will be held in check and for the sake of the survival of life it will prove a blessing.

This current verse offers a glimpse of Nostradamus own view of man in the scheme of eternal change and renewal. Through the anagrams he reveals some of the driving forces behind the people who back him and how he builds his own views into his poetry even as his backers alter some of his written work to serve their own backward-looking schemes.

None will remain to ask,
Great Mendosus will obtain his dominion:
Far from the court he will cause to be countermanded
Piedmont, Picardy, Paris, Tuscany the worst.
Ne $era $oul jamais de demander
Grand Mendo$us obtiendra $on empire
Loing de la cour fera contremander
Pymond Picard Paris Tyrron le pire.
