Nostradamus C.7 Q.39: The French army leader mutilated by his adversaries. Here yet again we have a verse whose text is full of vague, cryptic enigmas but its anagrams contain many names and they provide links to other verses that fill in the detail. Amongst the names Freemasonic, Pandora and Prussia provide important settings for this tale of a French military leader who loses a large part of his army in a foreign land.  It is in essence an unflattering character description  of a leader whose behaviour inflames retribution from his adversaries.   C.7 Q.39  The leader of the French army will expect to lose the main phalanx. Nostradamus C.7 Q.08: The examination of the Dead. The first line of this verse holds angrams for the names of three ancient writers Proclus, Homer and Psellos (which occurs in two lines as Psellus. There is also an anagram for 'arianism' in the third line, a distinctive philosophical vew point that led to the Nicean declarations of heresy and the Trinity during 325CE. This togeher with other names such as Saracen and Pandora supports my claim that this section is Nostradamus' acknowledgement list used to clarify the nature of his messages. There are other consistencies implied by anagrams for  forensical, formalin, wiffs and scrophule which suggest this vese is about the examination of the dead for research purposes. Nostradamus C.6 Q.96: Timescale for great war and Pandora's gifts. This verse at both the text and anagram level set the signs that can be seen at the time of the hideous calamity at the heart of Nostradamus' Prophecies. The nature of Nostradamus' quatrains yields much about its intent. It is of a well-defined scale insufficient to offer insight into a great number of events. There is no reasonable logic to his having chosen events in a far distant future other than that these events are far more significant than all those in between. But there is also no logic for a man of the sixteenth century to become involved  other than the recording of an inescapable set of events that the earth survives. This rationale is to be found in the anagrams which focus on a time scale, the atmospere and climate disasters. And the inclusion of the name Pandora in the anagrams illustrates this well since it is a perfect cipher for the release of manifold ills.
